The Bourguignon collection of Fabregoules, bequeathed to
the town of Aix for the Granet museum, was exhibited for
ten years, from 1866 to 1876, in this old chapel. On the
19th
October 1866, Cézanne wrote to Zola, "The elder
Gibert of the museum invited me to visit the Bourguignon
Museum, and I went with Baille, Marlon and Valabrègue.
I found it all quite awful."
