She took up residence here from 1895. From June to September
1897, Cézanne visited his mother and dined with her
every evening: "He dines in the evening and stays over
with his mother, whom he pampers and pays him tender respects.
She is disabled, he takes her on outings in the car, and
te enjoy the sunshine at the Jas. He carries her himself,
slim and frail like a child as he is, in his arms which
are still robust, from the car to her chair. He tells her
thousands of affectionate jokes"
It was there that she passed away, on the 25th October 1897.
