"I
want
to surprise Paris
with an apple !" Cézanne
declared enthusiastically to
Gustave Geffroy. That's probably because
Cézannes apples aren't like any others.are not like
any apples. They taste like friendship. They have a past in
the playground of the highschool Bourbon where Cézanne
used to attend. Cézanne was then 15 years old and wanted
to help his friend Emile Zola. Zola was the "skape goat",
this kind of kid that other children can't stand. He was kept
away from the other kids for any reason. Cézanne remembers
that: "Even our friendship comes from there: from
a crowd of people, young and old, that refused to talk to
me because I didn't obey them,
I couldn't help to go talk to this boy
he was a great guy. The day after,
he brought me a big
basket of apples.".
